2045 Grade Separation vs. At-Grade at US-95 and Appleway Ave.
ITD studied the US-95 and Appleway Avenue intersection in conjunction with the needs for the I-90 and US-95 interchange. With the close proximity of the intersection and interchange, the traffic analysis in the video shows how US-95 operates with and without the Appleway Avenue grade separation.
Appleway Avenue
The proposed design will lower Appleway Avenue under US-95, eliminating the intersection and related congestion in the corridor. Sidewalks on Appleway Avenue will be connected to a new sidewalk on the west side of US-95 and the US-95 Trail on the east side.
Benefits
-
Minimizes congestion and increases safety along Appleway Avenue.
-
Changes the roadway characteristics to be more attractive for local use.
